Burberry Spring 2015

Burberry Spring 2015

Fashion

For the Burberry Spring 2015 show, I created a series of hand-drawn typographic artworks, drawing inspiration from 1950s vintage book covers. These pieces were inspired by the writer and adventurer Bruce Chatwin and embodied the concept of wandering freedom. The show was adorned with this rich and colourful lettering, from the runway to the cashmere scarves worn by the models. At the end of the show each model carried a Burberry-bound artist's sketchbook adorned with the familiar print.

"The weathered colors and graphics of old book covers were a perfect complement to Chatwin-as-inspiration. So were the words printed on a leather jacket, a trench, and a weekend bag: "Adventure!" "Exploration!" It was the purest expression of the Burberry ethos that we've seen for some time."
